This site provides resources to teachers in Texas using the textbook Modeling with Mathematics: A Bridge to Algebra II for the Mathematical Models with Applications course. This site includes a correlation to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for this course (http://www.tea.state.tx.us/teks/).To access all of the site's features, you will need a Web Browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader and TI-83 Link file from Texas Instruments (easily located at: http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/nonProductMulti/apps_latest.html).

This site has five sections:

Activities
Assessments
Handouts and Transparencies
Technology Files
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Correlation

Activities extend and/or review the content of each chapter. There is an activity labeled, 'Chapter 0 Algebra Review' that can be used with students who need practice with basic Algebra I content before starting the course.

Assessments serve as end-of-chapter quizzes. They are most effective when they supplement the ongoing assessment that the 5-E Model uses. There are two forms of assessment provided, forms A and B, for each chapter.

Handouts and Transparencies are available for each section of the text. In addition to the handouts identified in the Teacher’s Edition, most textbook tables and drawings have been reproduced to save students time. Please note that, as the Teacher’s Edition indicates, depending on your class and teaching style, you may want to use some handouts as transparencies and vice versa.

Technology Files provide instructions for some of the experiments that use a CBL and data sets for the chapters, for example Chapter 08 TUNEDAT.8xp populates the frequencies of the different notes used in Sections 8.10 -8.15.
